On this site I'll include everything I know about Sublime including who was in it and what instruments
they played, and the rise and fall of the band.
Sublime started in 1988 with Bud Gaugh on the drums, Eric Wilson on the bass, and
the singer and guitarist, Bradley Nowell. They were based out of Long Beach, California. They were classified as an American
ska punk band but were known for mixing hip-hop and reggae into their music.
Sublime rose to the top in the early 90s with hit songs like "Date Rape" and "What
I Got." Sublime was known to perform their tours and concerts very heavily intoxicated. Riots broke out many times at Sublime's
concerts. In 1996, it ended. Lead singer and guitarist, Bradley Nowell, died of a heroin overdose and the band Sublime was
no more.
Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh went on to perform in a group called the Long Beach
Dub All Stars, without Bradley and had decent success, but they weren't Sublime.
"One thing people don't understand is that Sublime was always so much more then just music. It
was and still is a family" - Bud Gaugh
